Continuing Advanced Avalanche Education-

SOUTHEAST ALASKA SNOW AND AVALANCHE WORKSHOP (SEASAW)
When- Friday January 22, doors open at 5 event at 6-9
Where- HANGAR BALLROOM
What- Continuing education lectures by the regions snow safety professionals. With lectures on the Cities and Eaglecrests Ski Area Avalanche Mitigation Programs, How to perform the Alaska Block Snow Safety Tests, Saw Propagation Tests, Extended Column Tests, Mountain Weather, Decision Making, and Companion Rescue.

This is going to be a great event and we look forward to having you there!

Cost will be $10- Proceeds to go towards Pizza for the participants and continued avalanche education.

Avy Awareness Classes…

Avalanche Awareness Programs
Free and open to the public — Advance registration required for field sessions

These free programs are offered through the Alaska Avalanche School in Anchorage and are funded by the State of Alaska Reach and Teach Grant. This grant is geared towards educating the general public as to avalanche avoidance, recognition, and hazard evaluation and awareness. The funding received goes directly into putting on FREE PROGRAMS to the general public.

Juneau
Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center
Saturday, January 23, 7-9:30 pm, Lecture part 1
Sunday, January 24, 10 am – noon, Lecture part 2
Sunday, January 24, 12:30 – 4:30 pm, Field session
